How can we advance awareness of a rare disease through education and advocacy?
DMD is a form of muscular dystrophy that affects about 300,000 boys worldwide and currently has no known cure. This patient education book guides families and caregivers of children recently diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) from diagnosis through treatment options.
This book was developed with the support of JAR of Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing awareness and funds to research for DMD. JAR of Hope has become a leader in the DMD community for providing support and information on therapeutic treatment options, and this booklet helps to address the needs of an audience that’s received a difficult diagnosis. This piece is currently distributed to pediatric specialist offices.
